Zamna is the annual event that brings together the biggest crowds of musicians and electronic music lovers in Latin America, a place where nature, the spirit of freedom and the most advanced production technology coexist, creating real bonds between clubbers of every nationality.
In 2022, Zamna presented new events in Barcelona, Tel Aviv, Miami, Qatar, Mykonos and Bucharest, making it one of the most influential festivals in the world. In only six years of history, Zamna has turned Tulum into one of the most desired hotspots and a must-attend event for lovers of the underground movement.
Its first edition presented a deeply underground lineup that left no one indifferent. Many lovers of the genre began to talk about Tulum as their favorite holiday destination at that time of year, and as a place with an incredible atmosphere.
Tulum 2019
After a successful first season, brands like Afterlife, Solomun, Black Coffee and Paradise generated huge demand in Tulum. Artists began to choose Tulum as their favorite destination for the winter season, and attendees started planning their holidays in the Riviera Maya around Zamna Festival's programming.
Tulum 2020
Zamna Festival consolidated its position as the most important electronic music event in Latin America, in a remarkable season with incredible international artists, a production never seen before in Mexico for a festival of this kind, and more than 25,000 clubbers from all over the world.
Brands like Afterlife and Black Coffee consolidated their presence in Tulum for a third year, and brands like Renaissance made their debut, reaching a total of 26,000 attendees that year.
April 2021
For the first time, Zamna took place in April, following a strict COVID protocol pioneered worldwide and rigorous sanitary measures that proved it was possible to dance during the pandemic. The events took place completely separately, every weekend for the whole month of April. For the first time, artists such as Boris Brejcha performed in Tulum.
Winter 2021–2022
ARTBAT, The Masquerade x Higher Ground, Afterlife, Black Coffee, Circoloco and Renaissance's 30th anniversary, with a total of 45,000 attendees from five continents and more than 110 nationalities.
April 2022
Tale Of Us, Bedouin, Black Coffee and ARTBAT, with 20,000 attendees from five continents and over 70 nationalities.
Zamna around the world
Barcelona. Zamna chose Barcelona as the first destination to take the spirit of Tulum outside Mexico, at the neoclassical castle Castell del Ben Viure. From May to October, the paradisiacal venue gathered some of the most exciting artists of the current electronic scene and more than 17,000 people. More than 90 artists played, including Michael Bibi, John Talabot, Tale Of Us, Ricardo Villalobos, Anfisa Letyago, Apollonia, Motor City Drum Ensemble and Palms Trax.
Tel Aviv, Israel. Zamna landed in Tel Aviv on September 3 at the Ronit Farm venue, selling out weeks in advance and welcoming 6,300 clubbers from Israel, Europe and the Middle East. Artists: Tale Of Us, Stephan Bodzin, Sostil, Armonica and The Element.
Miami. Zamna announced its participation in Art Basel Miami on December 1, 2 and 3, once again choosing a dreamlike space: Island Gardens, with unique views of the Miami skyline from the sea.
Qatar. The spirit of Tulum settled in Doha during the FIFA World Cup in December 2022. Zamna took over the Sheraton Grand Doha Resort, with stages on the beach and in its gardens from November 15 to December 15, featuring artists such as ARTBAT, Maceo Plex, Joris Voorn, Diplo, Bedouin and Loco Dice.
Mykonos. The spirit of Tulum lands in Mykonos in summer 2023, in a location yet to be revealed with views over the Aegean Sea.
Visionnaire, Bucharest. Visionnaire is the festival's new clubbing concept, which debuted on October 15 in Bucharest with the idea of expanding to other cities around the world. Its first month confirmed artists such as Sasha, Guy Gerber, Claptone, Rodriguez Jr., Alex Kennon and Echonomist.
Winter season 2023 highlights
December 31 — Upperground by ARTBAT. The Ukrainian duo returns to Tulum with their label showcase for New Year's Eve at the open-air cenote of Zamna Tulum.
January 2 — Elevate by Michael Bibi. Michael Bibi's new concept, launching in London and passing through Argentina, lands in Tulum during Zamna's winter season.
January 4 — Afterlife by Tale Of Us. Tale Of Us and Afterlife take over the heart of the Tulum jungle at Zamna Tulum.
