NEGRINM: "Every Beat Is a Story"

The beginning

"My first contact with electronic music was through raves and psytrance, something really amazing. After a while I got more involved and started exploring music production. It opened my mind to another level. I started doing bioconstruction of stages and decoration for events, which brought me even closer to music. I began playing at home with friends and at parties, gradually discovering my skills and finding a genre I was really passionate about."

"For me, music is about connecting with people, telling a story from beginning to end and feeling the energy of the audience."

Who is NEGRINM?

"I was born in Venezuela, and when I was 12 my parents moved to Mexico for work. At 17 I started exploring the music scene. People often ask me why NEGRINM, and the answer is simple: it's my last name, Eduardo Negrín Marín. Some people find it peculiar, but for me it's beautiful and has historical roots."

How were you received when you arrived in Mexico's music scene?

"It was a gradual process. I started out working at festivals and events in roles like the juice bar, but my passion for music pushed me to move up in the industry."

Your biggest achievements

"One of my biggest achievements so far is becoming one of the residents at Vagalume Tulum, a place recognized worldwide. It wasn't easy, but with perseverance and dedication I was able to make my way and show my talent."

What inspires you, and how do you prepare a memorable experience?

"My daily inspiration comes from my goals and dreams. I constantly visualize what I want to accomplish and work hard to achieve it. I prepare by thinking of new ways to captivate my audience. Music is healing, cleansing and harmonious, and I want to convey those emotions in my performances.

"My major influences include Jamie Jones, Patrice Bäumel, Notre Dame, Kintar, Dennis Cruz, Loco Dice and Joezi, among others. I admire how each of them expresses themselves through their music and conveys their unique essence, and the effort they've put into succeeding in the industry."

What's next for NEGRINM?

"I'm working on exciting collaborations with great friends and colleagues, and releases on a prestigious record label that I'll reveal in due course. Stay tuned to my social media."
