Some artists build a sound. Very few let you watch them do it.
Ae:ther was born and raised in Rome, carries German roots and spent six years in London before moving to Berlin in 2017. Along the way he shaped one of the most recognisable voices in melodic techno: cinematic, a little cosmic, and always built for the dancefloor. His records have travelled through Afterlife, Crosstown Rebels, Watergate and Zamna Records, "Arteon" has passed two million streams, "Dynamite" with Yellowitz is not far behind, and his latest single, "X Is For Lovers", just landed on X Recordings.
Underneath all of that sits a wide map of influences: Underground Resistance and early Detroit, Autechre, Brian Eno, Tangerine Dream, Miles Davis. Pioneers who pushed boundaries. Today, Ae:ther takes a step in that same spirit and opens the door to his studio.
Ae:ther • Selects
Today Ae:ther launches Ae:ther • Selects, his own Patreon channel and the first time he shares what has always stayed behind the scenes. Personal sample packs. Breakdowns of productions that have passed millions of streams. Tracks and edits that never left his hard drive. And, for a small group of supporters, private one to one feedback sessions on Zoom.
The name says a lot about the intention. This is not a merch table or a content dump. In his own words:
"Ae:ther Selects isn't a content shop. It's selected access to the way I work. I'm looking for selected artists who want to grow and truly understand how a track is made, not just listen to it."
For a scene that often hides the process behind the final drop, that is a refreshing move. Melodic techno lives on details: the movement of a pad, the space between two sounds, the patience of a long build. Ae:ther has always been a producer of details, and now he is putting them on the table.
It is also a smart answer to a question every young producer asks: how do the artists I love actually work? Tutorials can teach you a plugin. Very few can show you how a track that fills Afterlife dancefloors is born, layer by layer, from the person who made it.
Three ways in
Ae:ther • Selects is built in three monthly tiers, each one going a step deeper into the studio. Prices are per month, plus VAT.
The Loft, €10. For those who live the music. A members-only monthly DJ mix full of unreleased IDs, Aether Selects (the tracks he is playing right now, with his notes), behind the scenes photos and videos from the road and the studio, and a private Discord with polls and a monthly Q&A.
The Studio, €30. For those who want to learn the creative process. Everything in The Loft, plus a monthly breakdown video of one of his hit tracks, direct downloads of upcoming releases and a premium sample pack built from Ae:ther projects.
The Mentor, €75 (limited VIP). For producers looking for direct feedback. Everything in the first two tiers, plus a personal 30 minute Zoom call every month with feedback on your tracks, bootlegs and unreleased edits that never saw the light, priority registration for live events and workshops, and a basic Ableton Live project to build your own track.
The Mentor tier is where it gets serious: only 15 spots at launch. For anyone producing in this space, a monthly session with an artist who has released on Afterlife and Crosstown Rebels is the kind of access that is usually impossible to get.
The door is open
Ae:ther has spent years building worlds for the dancefloor. With Ae:ther • Selects, he is handing over some of the keys. Whether you just want the music before anyone else or you want to sit in the room while a track is made, there is now a door open.
